ULTRA VIOLET RESIN (UV RESIN) - Advance surface quality/Ready to paint/Complex kit still require assembly
Parts produced using this material are basically through the most sophisticated 3d printing machine currently available in the market today. It has a flat and smooth surface finish and unbeatable details to a tiny scale. Layers of printing are barely be seen or felt. layer resolution is approximately 0.001 mm (28 myu)
It has a characteristic close to plastic, with white color, very strong (not fragile), in a certain thinkness it also has flexibility. It can be easily sanded and painted. Because of this ideal result for its detail superiority, we call it as PREMIUM parts. In short, what you see in 3d design drawings, is basically what you will have in the real product. Just use CA glue for permanent bonding
ABS Plastic - Basic kit/complex kit requires assembly or process before painting
This material is the real plastic, without further explanation, it has real plastic characteristic. The
surface has texture due to the printing process. However, with little effort of sanding or use a proper primer spray paint, you will have the same result as above. Plastic model kit glue or CA are the perfect choice for permanent bonding. Layer resolution is 0.19mm. Same like Resin material, This is basically basic scale parts that require builder to do extra work for preparation which may include glueing for kit , sanding, priming and painting) due to low cost of material and production.
Thermo Plastic - Basic kit/complex kit requires assembly or process before painting
With the advance in 3d printing technology, a plastic look alike material is available nowadays. With the characteristic close to ABS Plastic. However, it has some limitations to mimic the real ABS Plastic but able the replace some Resin Products with the advantage of far less weight. CA glue is still the quickest for perfect bonding. Just follow the way of ABS plastic to get a perfect surface finish.
Vacuum Casting Resin (Resin) basic kit/complex kit requires assembly or process before painting
Resin is the most simple material to produce into scale part, both quickly and with high quantity. However, only very limited model of part can be produced with resin, mostly simple parts. With the advance process using vacuum casting, more complex part can now be produced, but still can not as many as 3d printing process. In general it has better quality surface finish than UV Resin and has most weight compared to other materials. Same like Resin material, This is basically basic scale parts that require builder to do extra work for preparation which may include glueing for kit , sanding, priming and painting) due to low cost of material and production.
As many scale parts are very small, to make it clear and can be seen in detail, we sometime use a 3d drawing to show the part in detail instead of actual photograph. Therefore these images are for reference only and do not representing the actual part in therm of surface finish.
Kit/Basic kit : require parts preparations and cleaning before assembly. including extra works for surface
preparation before painting in order to get the best surface finish. Kit form has additional
advantage intermediate and advance buidler as it allow some room for modification and
Assembly : The kit is assembled, but may need to be painted by yourself
Finish/RTF : the kit is in finish form and painted, ready to be installed in your fuselage
